The day
A destination wedding at the end of September, when the Cyprus summer softens and the evenings stay warm. The whole day took place at Vasilias Nikoklis Inn, from the preparations to the ceremony, the portraits in the grounds and the celebration that followed.
The venue
Vasilias Nikoklis Inn is a traditional stone inn in the village of Nikoklia, in the countryside inland from Paphos. Old stone walls, wooden doors and gardens all around give the day a quiet, timeless feel, and the light in the courtyard is soft through the afternoon.
Filming the day
We planned the coverage hours with the couple in advance, so every part of the day was filmed without rushing. Vows and speeches were recorded with dedicated microphones, and the portraits were filmed in the late light around the inn.
The film is finished in a wide cinematic frame, which suits the stone and greenery of the inn.
